Apple picking in Boston

Nothing says fall quite like hot cider, crisp juicy apples, and warm cider donuts. The smells alone take us to a place of happiness and home. If you’re up for a walk through the farms, a hayride and some good old-fashion farm time, take a trip to one of these apple farms, just a short ride away from your guest room at XV Beacon.

Connors Farm
30 Valley Road, Danvers
Open daily

Located just over 20 miles from Boston, Connors Farm offers more than just apple picking fun. On the weekends, the farm hosts a corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin tetherball and more. Pay $9.99 ($13.99 on weekends) for farm access and an additional $9.95-$29.95 for an apple bag (price varies based on how many apples you’re planning on picking). Children under two are always free.

Boston Hill Farm
1370 Turnpike St., North Andover
Open daily

If you’re into grazing as you go, the Boston Hill Farm is the place for you. In addition to the traditional apple-picking fun, the farm store also offers sugar pumpkins, ice cream and a small petting zoo with bunnies and sheep. Pay for what you pick here. Grab a 10 pound bag or 20 pound.

Honeypot Hill
138 Sudbury Road, Stow
Open daily

Honeypot Hill is known for hayrides, and fields of delicious apples ripe for picking. Grab a cup of fresh cider or snack on a caramel apple before or after your apple picking adventure. This pick-your-own apple farm is cash/check only.

If you’re not into a day at the farm or just want a quick apple-cider fix, head to the Boston Public Market and stop by Union Square donuts for some warm cider donuts and a cup of cider to go.
