Boston Day Trips

Plymouth Rock SignOne of the greatest things about Boston is its proximity to other great locations. From 30 minutes to just a couple hours from the front doors of Fifteen Beacon hotel you’ll arrive in some of the most picturesque New England cities and towns. Grab a map from our concierge and don’t forget your camera as you head out on these Boston day trips.

Plymouth Rock: About a 45-minute drive south of Boston is Plymouth Rock, a must-see for history buffs. Check out where our settlers first arrived, and then tour the pretty little coastal town for some unique souvenirs and great seafood.

Salem, Mass: No trip to New England is complete without a jaunt around the haunted town of Salem, Massachusetts. Just an hour north of Boston, Salem is where the famous witch trials took place in the 1600s, and also where you’ll find the House of Seven Gables and the Peabody Essex Museum.

Cape Cod: The coastal towns that make up Cape Cod are worth a visit any time of year. While beachgoers flock here during the summer months, those in-the-know head to the Cape in the off-season and enjoy fewer crowds and crisper air. Take a tour of the famous lighthouses, tour the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory, or hop the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket.

Lenox: Just two hours west of Boston is Lenox, home to The Berkshires and the famous Boston Symphony Orchestra. During the summer months, take in a concert at Tanglewood. If you’re visiting during the fall, the foliage isn’t to be missed.

Ready to get away? Contact our concierge to help plan the perfect itinerary! We’re excited to welcome you back to Fifteen Beacon after your idyllic Boston day trip.
