XV Beacon has asked our experienced luxury Concierge team a few of the most sought after questions and now available to you at home are their answers!
“I want to propose to my girlfriend….can you help me plan it?”
We would be more than happy to! Our concierge team can assist with planning the perfect proposal. XV Beacon hosts a private roof deck that can be accessed by guests only. We suggest taking your partner to our roof deck (open during the warmer months) and proposing at sunset. There you will find a grand view of the city and the surprised look on your lovers face! Afterwards, have two glasses of bubbly delivered to the roof deck to toast to your future!
“I want to take a day trip…where should I go? Do? Dine?”
The answer to this question really depends on the season! Seeing as how Spring has just sprung, I would suggest taking the vehicle of your choice (personal, rental, or chauffeur) and heading South towards Newport, Rhode Island. You can begin your day touring the Gilded Mansions (19th century mansions owned by the countries elite built between 1870 -1900’s). Stop by the Cliff Walk close by to take in the coast line and enjoy their famous trail. We also suggest enjoying a glass of wine (or two) at the award winning Newport Vineyards. What could be better than indulging in a great steak, with a fine bottle of wine, at a beautiful waterfront restaurant in historic Newport Rhode Island? Nothing! That is why we suggest stopping into 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar and Grille for the aforementioned.
If you are looking for more of a fine dining experience with remarkable ocean views, bountiful local flavor, and extraordinary service, venture out to enjoy one of Castle Hill Inn’s world-class Newport restaurants. Combining seasonal, locally sourced ingredients with culinary techniques from around the world.
“I want to experience an amazing pre fixe dinner with my partner, what do you suggest?”
Assuming there is no inherent desire for a particular cuisine, our first suggestion would be a Japanese oriented meal at O Ya. O Ya is famous for their omakase and serves dish after dish of immaculately plated sushi. Prepare for 17 courses for $185 per person (not including tax and gratuity), with an optional beverage pairing for an additional $95, or go for the “grand omakase” — 20 courses, including some extra-special ingredients, for $285 (plus $150 for pairings). Our recommendation would be a French- Italian oriented dinner at Menton, a Barbara Lynch restaurant. With beautifully executed cuisine, an unparalleled wine program, warm hospitality, and a glamorous setting, Menton seeks to excite, inspire, and transport guests. Pristine ingredients and refined technique are the basis for the seasonally inspired menus. Their pre fixe menu known at Menton as “Chef’s Whim” is an eight course meal that changes daily based on seasonality, allergies and any possible aversions. The cost per person is $165.00 and if you would like to pair wine with your courses, it is $295.00 per person.
“Is it possible to get a private tour of one of Boston’s art museums? If so, which would you recommend?”
The answer is yes! We would recommend taking a private tour of the Isabella Steward Gardner museum. The Gardner Museum offers a range of tour options.
For groups of two or more we recommend the Choose your own Adventure tour.
Their educators will help you create a personalized, one-hour tour tailored to your interests. Ideal for special celebrations, family gatherings, reunions, book groups, special interest groups; or friends wanting a unique outing together. Possible topics include Love at the Gardner, A Trip to Venice, or A Designer’s Eye. If desired, tours can also include writing, sketching or other participatory activities
Pricing: $150 base price plus $20 per person; $17 for seniors; $5 for members.
If your group includes at least six persons we recommend the Isabella and Her Museum Tour. In this tour you will explore masterpieces of the Gardner Museum, and find out why this is one of the greatest private art collections in America. Discover how Isabella created her remarkable collection, and hear stories about the lengths she would go to purchase her objects of desire. Pricing: $20 per person; $17 for seniors; $5 for members.
“Does Boston have any establishments that offer high tea? If so, where would you recommend we go?”
We actually do! We would recommend enjoying High Tea at the Boston Public Library. Inspired by the literary and architectural history of the Boston Public Library, as well as the City of Boston, the Courtyard Tea Room at the Boston Public Library sets out to create a tea experience unlike any other. The Tea Room offers a classic afternoon tea whereas the Map Room Tea Lounge, offers a high tea experience with a twist by serving modern fare and tea-infused cocktails.
