Why is the Beacon Hill neighborhood so festive for Halloween and why is it so popular to be in this neighborhood for all Hallow’s eve?
Beacon Hill is my favorite location to celebrate Halloween, and this will be my 10th year attending. The streets close for people of all ages to stroll, check out the over-the-top decorations, and collect candy. The residents take Halloween very seriously, and their homes are decorated to the nines for the holiday, often with intricate themes (such as Star Wars, or Under the Sea).
“A “perfect” atmosphere: The neighborhood’s cobblestone streets, gas lamps, and historic brownstones create an inherently mysterious and old-world atmosphere that is perfect for a Halloween celebration.” “Beacon Hill’s intense focus on Halloween is a culmination of its historic character, its reputation for old and macabre stories, and a powerful community tradition that attracts thousands of visitors each year. The neighborhood’s picturesque setting makes it a natural backdrop for a spooky and whimsical experience”.
